Hedgehogs Class - Nursery and Reception

Led by Ms Benstead, our EYFS environment is a carefully planned, nurturing space for our youngest pupils to learn.  We plan our early years over a range of topics, reaching towards our KS1 topics to enable highly sequenced planning across the EYFS curriculum.  Our staff are all skilled practitioners in enabling learning through a balance of play-based approaches and direct teaching.  We use a systematic phonics programme called Read, Write Inc. that has high expectations for our early readers and is a strong start for all learners.

Robins Class - Reception, Year 1 and Year 2

Our Robins class is situated in the beautiful thatched building and is inhabited by our mixed Reception, Year 1 and 2 class.   Taught by Mrs Coulam, our children benefit from a carefully planned and sequenced mixed curriculum, where our Reception children can flexibly be taught across the classes to enable them continued access to an EYFS curriculum as well as more structured teaching in our KS1 classroom.

Foxes Class - Year 3 and 4

We structure our KS2 classes with two year groupings to enable a smooth delivery of our curriculum and to ensure that our learning is well sequenced and age-appropriate.  In Foxes, Mrs Bellew teaches our Year 3 and 4 pupils and children receive high quality learning across a range of subjects, from core learning of English and Maths to wider learning of French and Music.

Squirrels Class - Year 5 and 6

In Year 5 and 6, our pupils benefit from a far-reaching curriculum in a well supported and nurturing environment.  Led by Miss Boundy, our pupils are offered opportunities to have school responsibilities such as nursery buddies and digital leaders.  Our curriculum is planned across a two-year rolling programme, with exciting themes from Ancient Greeks to Biomes!
